Biography of artist Bipin Kumar Ghimire
Bipin Kumar Ghimire is a
renowned Nepali artist and academician who has contributed extensively for the
development of Nepali art and art education at the university level. His
sincere and diligent passion to improve the quality of formal art education is honored
and valued by generations of students, artists and the Nepali nation. He
received his higher art education under governmental scholarship program in the
USSR where he perfected his craft for over a decade before graduating with two
Master of Fine Arts degrees (Gold Medal) and returning to Nepal to serve the
homeland in 1990 AD. From 1990 to 2018, he taught at the nation’s premier art
institute - Fine Arts Campus of Tribhuvan University - also serving as head of
the art department and the chief of campus for several years. He is a retired
Associate Professor and currently serves as the Member Secretary of Nepal
Academy of Fine Arts.
