Perspective View: My Experience as a Curator - Provincial Level Fine Arts Exhibition, Koshi Province

In Biratnagar, there is not even a single dedicated art gallery space. Because of this reality, handling the responsibility of a curator became far more difficult than expected. Creating an exhibition environment without proper gallery infrastructure required extra planning, physical effort, creative adjustment, and continuous problem-solving. What would normally take many days of preparation had to be completed within just one day. Establishing a complete exhibition area within such a short time demanded teamwork, endurance, and quick curatorial decisions.
We received many brilliant artworks filled with originality, depth, and creativity from talented artists. Each piece carried its own story and artistic essence. However, due to limitations of space, materials, and budget, I had to compromise in hanging arrangements, display balance, and layout structure. Without proper display boards, professional hanging systems, or island display areas, the setup could not reach the presentation standard I had envisioned.

This remains a point of personal sadness for me. I had dreamed of a more refined and technically strong exhibition design. Due to low budget and limited funds, many display elements could not be arranged. I sincerely express my apologies to all respected artists. and senior contributors that I could not prepare the ideal setup their artworks truly deserved.

At the same time, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all those who supported and helped me throughout the curating process the organizing team, coordinators, technical helpers, volunteers, fellow artists, and well-wishers who stood beside me during installation and setup. Your cooperation, patience, and encouragement made it possible to complete this exhibition within such a limited time frame. I am truly thankful for your trust and support.

Despite all constraints, I gave my fullest effort to ensure that each creation received respect, visibility, and thoughtful placement. I carefully tried to maintain harmony, flow, and visual connection among the works so that visitors could still experience the spirit and message of each piece.

Overall, this journey was challenging yet deeply meaningful. It taught me resilience, adaptive curation, and the urgent need for proper art infrastructure in our region. I remain hopeful that in the future we will have a dedicated art gallery space and stronger institutional support, so that our artists and their masterpieces can be presented with the excellence they truly deserve.
